Welcome to the Tuesday Trainer! Starting with this article, each week on Tuesdays, TeamJohnny will post an article that is in the theme of a life lesson or “training.” Keep your eyes peeled for what other posts will pop up this week!

Today’s training: “Train Your Brain to Expect Great Days”

In this article, I will teach you how to start training your brain to expect great days.

Your days don’t just happen to you – they are the physical manifestations of what you have been thinking about. What you think about, you bring about. We can literally THINK our lives into existence. Did you know that? Well, consider yourself informed and get ready to grab your life by the hair to direct it where you want it to go.

Let’s start thinking.

Think of your normal morning routine. It may look similar to this:

Snooze button. Snooze button. Snooze button. “Ugh – okay fine I’ll get up.” Morning procedures commence like using the bathroom, showering, grooming, etc. You put the television on to hear the horrors of the world, oh – sorry – the “news”; you get dressed, maybe eat something and rush out the door to begin your day.

Wow! How fun!

You most likely operated on auto-pilot for the whole morning ritual. Now, based on the morning’s start, what kind of day do you think you’ll receive?

Will it be a good day? Will you be on time? Will you be busy? Will it be frustrating? Encouraging? Will time drag on and on? Will you enjoy your lunch? Will you laugh? There are so many ways that each and every day can turn out, and the answer to how they will all turn out rests solely in your hands.

We have the opportunity to think our days into existence. What do you want to experience today? What do you see yourself achieving today? What nice things do you hear someone saying to you today? What fabulous choices are you going to make for lunch today? What wonderful news will you be included in hearing today? How many traffic lights will be green for you today? What greatness will happen to you today?

There are SO MANY opportunities for us to think of each of the aforementioned while thinking of even more wonderful experiences we can choose to have for us every day!

To get the days you want, you have to decide what kind of days you want! Each evening, before bedtime, take a minute or few to think about the next day. Consider these positive affirmations and say them to yourself, yet out loud, and try to feel the feelings that go with the thoughts.

Example:

“I see myself waking refreshed, ready and excited for the day.” As you think this and say it out loud, feel how good it feels to wake up, refreshed and pumped for the day ahead.

“I see myself leaving the house on time, getting every green light on the way to my destination, arriving at my destination just as happy if not happier than when I left my house.” Feel how good it feels to be on time, to make every light, and how great it feels to be filled with happiness, JUST BECAUSE.

“I see everyone smiling at me, welcoming me, greeting me, appreciating me, thinking of me, helping me, giving their best to me, laughing with me and more.” Feel how great it feels when people smile at you, how nice it feels to be welcomed somewhere, to be appreciated, to receive the best from others and know that you deserve all of that and more – JUST BECAUSE.

If you can train your brain to order your days in advance, your days will be full of everything you want – rather than everything you don’t want and don’t like. You are the commander. What you say, goes. But you have to say it. You have to decide what you want done, so the Universe can rearrange itself in ways you cannot see or begin to understand so you may have and experience all that you love and desire.
